The event, held at the Magnificent Destiny Event Centre on Nza Street, Independence Layout, culminated in a historic endorsement of Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for a second term ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The gathering radiated grandeur and passion, drawing a distinguished array of traditional rulers, clergy, political stalwarts, market leaders, youth and women groups, and community influencers from all 17 Local Government Areas of Enugu State. Commissioners, political veterans, and grassroots mobilizers reaffirmed their unflinching loyalty to Governor Mbah’s leadership vision and pledged to work tirelessly for his re-election in 2027.
The event transcended a mere political convergence, evolving into a festival of progress and a celebration of leadership that delivers. The high point of the gathering came when the group, in a moment thick with emotion and pride, crowned Governor Mbah as the Grand Patron of G17—a title exclusively reserved for individuals whose leadership and vision have left indelible footprints on the sands of time. According to the organizers, this honor was a resounding recognition of Mbah’s transformative leadership, visionary governance, and groundbreaking achievements across all sectors, including infrastructure, education, agriculture, digital economy, and fiscal innovation, all within just two years of his administration.
Delivering a captivating keynote address, the Convener of G17, Hon. Dr. Chinedu Mbah, described the endorsement as a natural consequence of the governor’s unmatched performance and leadership excellence. With a voice filled with conviction, he declared, “Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah is not just a leader; he is a phenomenon. His vision has redefined governance, restored public trust, and inspired a new era of confidence and progress in Enugu State. Anywhere Governor Mbah stands, that is where G17 stands. Dr. Mbah went on to extol the governor’s unwavering commitment to good governance, transparency, and people-driven policies, highlighting revolutionary water projects that have restored 24-hour water supply in Enugu metropolis, the establishment of smart schools reshaping education delivery, reforms in justice and transportation sectors, and a flourishing digital economy that has positioned Enugu as a new investment destination in Nigeria.
