Secretariat Renovation and Corps Lodge Construction Advances Ambitiously in Enugu

Significant progress is being made on two major infrastructure projects in Enugu State, as reported by the Enugu Journalist. The renovation of the Nsukka Local Government Secretariat and the construction of the Corps Lodge are moving forward with impressive momentum under the supervision of Engr. Jude Asogwa Chinedu-KSJI.

The Nsukka Local Government Secretariat complex is undergoing a transformative renovation, gradually unveiling a fresh new look. Old window panes and doors have been replaced with modern alternatives, while reinforcement work continues in various sections of the building. Scaffolding is prominently visible, supporting the ongoing block work and remodeling efforts aimed at enhancing the structure’s aesthetic appeal. The landscaping of the secretariat compound has been completed, featuring newly planted flowers and carpet grass, adding to the revitalized environment. Additionally, the Gravitex© plastering of the building and fences, extending to the gate section, is nearing completion, marking a significant milestone in the project.

Meanwhile, the construction of the Corps Lodge in Nsukka is advancing ambitiously. As of October 7, 2025, the structure has surpassed the foundation stage and is nearing the lintel stage for the ground floor. Designed to accommodate over 60 Corps members, the building will boast modern facilities, including enhanced security features, thanks to its strategic location within the NSCDC compound at GRA Nsukka, near the Nsukka Divisional Police Station/Area Command and the Governor’s Lodge. The lodge will also include a cooling system, a waiting area/sitting room, private lavatories, and a reliable water supply, among other amenities.

These developments reflect a committed effort to improve infrastructure and provide modern living and working conditions in the region. Stay tuned for further updates on these ambitious projects.
